Day 0

Arrive in Delhi with an airport pickup. We will head straight to the Haveli for a chance to rest and freshen up before dinner. After a long international flight you will be thrilled to know that we will have a chef come to prepare you a traditional Indian meal. Settle down for the evening for a much needed rest.

Day 1

After a complimentary breakfast we will make our way to the Akshardham. It is the second largest Hindu temple in the world. The temple has over 20,000 engraved statues in the structure and is a cultural statement piece. We will enjoy lunch here at a nearby cafe before heading to the Jama Masjid a 375 year old mosque. It is one of the largest Sunni mosque's in the world and has a capacity of 25,000 people. Then we will board bike rickshaws that will show us the sights of Old Delhi. You will have the chance to purchase any spices you desire in the Spice market or finally get your hands on an authentic Cashmere scarf. We will conclude our tour at a Sikh Gurdwara, an ornate temple that also embraces a monotheistic faith. The metro will take you back to the Haveli where a warm meal will be awaiting you.

Day 2

This is the biggest in country travel day so be prepared! Rise and shine at 5 am where a taxi will be waiting at the haveli to drop you off at the Delhi train station. Board a train with your group for a 7 hour train ride to Dehradun. There, a taxi will be waiting to take you the rest of the journey. Before you leave the city enjoy a late lunch at a tasty Tibetan restaurant. The journey is a winding mountainous drive (5 hours by car) through the beautiful Himalayan foothills (you may want to take Dramamine to avoid car sickness.) We will reach our mountain HQ late in the evening where a traditional Garhwali meal will be waiting for you for dinner. After dinner, settle into your beds for a relaxing slumber.

Day 3

Rest day. In the late afternoon there is an opportunity to attend a cultural moment where you can learn how to make authentic Chai and hear Indian tales from local mountain people.  â€‹Explore the nearby river. Lay on the river bank, play spike ball in the sand, or pass the time with your favorite book. Do whatever you need to recharge and be ready to embark on the trek the following day.

Day 4

Enjoy a slow morning waking up in a valley beholding the towering mountains all around you. Sip chai as you take in the crisp morning air. Visit the local mountain craft shop where you can purchase hand crafted wooden pens sourced from Himalayan wood or hand woven baskets (great for carrying groceries or doubling as a beach bag). Prep your trekking pack because right after lunch we load up the SUV's for a two hour journey to get to the trail head. The trail begins at the end of the road in Agorda Village. Our campsite is nestled right alongside a river at 7,500 ft.

Day 5

After eating a warm breakfast cooked over a wood fire set off on your first full day of trekking. Much of the trekking is right on the mountainside so enjoy a day full of nice views and thrilling moments. Enjoy a packed lunch on the trail before reaching the campsite in the late afternoon. Welcome to Dodital Lake a sacred body of water according to Hindu traditions. There is a local priest who maintains the shrine at this location. This campsite rests at 10,000 ft. and will be your campsite for the next two nights. It is a serene tranquil place, great for meditation, reflection and contemplating the deep things of life.

Day 6

Another full day of trekking. Eat a hearty breakfast before summiting Darwa Top at 13,000 ft. It's about a 5 - 6 hour round trip. The summit gives you a beautiful panoramic view of Bandarpunch a 20,000 ft. massif. Make your way back to our campsite for a warm late lunch. Enjoy the rest of your day by the serene lake before gathering around the fire for dinner.

Day 7

Last day of trekking. Begin your descent out. Let your hunger ebb away as you dive into your packed lunch. Pass through a mountain village on your way out and get to experience how people live off the grid on the other side of the world. If you have picked up any Hindi from your travels this is a good time to practice your "Namaste" greeting. (Don't forget to do the praying hands emoji, people don't shake hands here). The SUV's will be waiting for you at the trail head to bring you back to Uttarkashi a 2 hour drive where you will celebrate completing your expedition with mouth watering Dry Chili Chicken and butter naan.

Day 8

Big travel day. Time to make your way back home. After breakfast a taxi will take you to the Dehradun airport (5 hours by car. Grab lunch on the way before you reach the airport. The flight to Delhi is less than an hour. Once there, catch your international flight!
